Freehostia is also one of the few reliable free hosting providers. They don’t put any banners to your site. That means you have more space for adsense 
Their plan is very similar to awardspace. They give you 250MB of space and 5 GB of bandwidth. They let you host only two domain names, but you can have 10 subdomains. Bad thing that they let you to have only 3 e-mails, and you can have only one MySQL database. As well as awardspace, they not let you to have files bigger than 500 KB and they don’t give cPanel.
If I had to choose between awardspace and freehostia, i would choose awardspace. Why? Because awardspace looks for me more reliable. Also control panel which awardspace gives to us is more convenient for me to use than freehostia.
But for some people freehostia can be better than awardspace. It’s Elefante Installer, it let’s you automatically install such CMS as wordpress, drupal, php-fusion and other. Well somehow I don’t use such scripts and install everything by myself, but for inexperienced people this can be huge advantage.
